/h1 On behalf of my fellow Commissioners and myself, I regretfully accept your resignation as a member of the Advisory Panel for the Decontamination of Three Mile Island, Unit 2. I would like to express sincere appreciation for the many contributions you have made to the activities of the Advisory Panel while serving as a member from the Panel's' inception in the fall of~1980 to the present.

I am sure that your fellow Panel members have benefited from and appreciated the depth of your comitment to the Panel's mission, as evidenced by your dedicated attendance at Panel meetings and your sensitivity to the concerns of the public. I am particularly grateful for the technical insights that you provided to the Panel and the Commission; your comments regarding the issue of occupational radiation exposure were of great assistance to the NRC staff in the preparation of the first supplement to the Programatic Environmental Impact Statement for the cleanup of TMI-2. Regarding your concern on the disposal of the cleanup water, the Commission will carefully consider all pertinent views before reaching a decision on a staff recommendation.

In recognition of the above and the many outstanding contributions you have made to the Commission while serving as a member of the Advisory Panel, I am pleased to present you with the enclosed Certificate of Appreciation.
