The Atornic Sa fety and Licensing Board has concluded that 7h_,((f IIenry and Darlene Stiner, former Comanche Peak workers who made.
numerous allegations concerning welding practices, are not Q
credible witnesses.
"The record demonstrates that Mr. and Mrs. Stiner are individuals who possess me:nories that produce different versions facts when questioned at different times and possess of the same selective rocall of facts and details favorable to their claims, accompanied by a fai. lure of memory 4:s to other facts regarding those claims," the board concluded in a memorandum issued late lionday.
In contrant to tho Stiners, the board said it " finds no inconsistencies from (the company's) witnesses which would call into question th>ir credibility."
l The ASLB ruled that with two exceptions, the allegatice;.
raised by the Stiners 're without merit. The board said it att11 had questions rogarding two welding practices, but said "there is reasonable.nourance that these allegations are not re flective of any condition that could adversely impact the safe operation of the plant."
The board sc.id part of its conclusi.on that the Stiners had no credib!Iity i te.r mo d "fron our realization that both of the Stinera m i sunJ. + c o tood the echnical foundatim for the weave welding procedure which waa the crux of a subs?antial portion of their complain *. about the plant."
4 I'u r the rm o r e, the board said it fou.-M that llanry Stiner Uin fired because o f a long-standing absenta.4iam problen at work, not, as he claim"d, becau.e he reported a problem to a OC in,pector.
