POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT NOS.1 AND 2 - WITHDRAWAL OF AMENDMENT REQUESTS (TAC NOS. M94039 AND M94040)
Dear Mr. Grigg:
By letter dated October 23,1995, Wisconsin Electric Power Company applied for amendments to the Point Beach Nuclea Plant, Units 1 and 2 Operating Licenses Nos. DPR-24 and DPR-27, respectively. The proposed change would have modified the facility operating licenses and technical specifications to change the company name from Wisconsin Electric Power Company to Wisconsin Energy Company. Subsequently, by letter dated May 19,1997, you informed the Commission that the Boards of Directors of Northern States Power Company and WEPCO mutually agreed to terminate their proposed merger, and you withdrew the amendment requests.
The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendments to Facility Operating Licenses with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
