a ENCLOSURE 3 NRC Comments After Field Tour

1. Need to document the depth of surface preparation.
2. For areas already tested, verify that their preparation depths are 1/4" or greater (per testing procedure requirement). For those areas with lesser depths, either regrind to provide the needed depth or perform chemical test to show that the carbonized concrete was eliminated. .

3. Are operators qualified properly? Documentation of their training should be complete.
4. Be sure readings are taken correctly in congested areas.
5. John Devers will witness areas to be tested in the Reactor Building and tests applied to underside of slabs.
6. Gap Documentation - Need as-built gap measurements and types of debris that are left in place.
7. NRC is ready to officially receive TUEC revised action plans.
8. NRC requested a copy of all the Schmidt Hammer Test results that were witnessed on January 28, 1985. These will be given to John Devers before he leaves the site on January 29, 1985.

4 Control Room Ceiling Status

1. Analysis of restraints of the ceiling architectural features (louvered panels, cross tees, etc.) is now being performed.
2. Restraints to limit lateral movement of the unistrut grid are being designed.
