I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the NRC's Incident Investigation Program (IIP) with you today. For your background information on the IIP, I am enclosing a Program Plan covering its further development.
As I mentioned to you, it is our plan to develop the team procedures and to issue them for trial use and comment. These procedures would then be discussed in a series of regional workshops with the licensees, and the resulting feedback would be incorporated through revisions of the program guidance.
We welcome your comments at any time. If a meeting to discuss the program would be helpful prior to the workshops, please let me know. We would be pleased to meet with you.
