Dear Mr. Morey:

By letter dated April 22, 1996, and supplemented by letters dated May 3, July 25, August 30, September 16, September 19, and October 8,1996, you applied for an amendment to the Facility Operating License No. NPF-8 for the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant (FNP), Unit 2. The proposed change would have modified the facility technical specifications pertaining to implementation of l an L* repair criteria for the FNP Unit 2 steam generators. Subsequently, by letter dated May 5, 1997, you withdrew the amendment request.

The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
