PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2, WITHDRAWAL OF A REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE ASME B0ILER AND PRESSURE VESSEL CODE CASE N-521 (TAC NOS. M94037 AND M94038)
Dear Mr. Anderson:
By letter dated November 1,1995, and supplemented August 9,1996, and November 26, 1996, Northern States Power Company submitted a request for authorization to use American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Case N-521, " Alternative Rules for Deferral of Inspections of Nozzle-to-Vessel Welds, Inside Radius Sections, and Nozzle-to-Safe End Welds of a Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) Vessel,Section XI, Division 1," during the Prairie Island Third Ten Year Inservice Inspections Interval for both Units 1 and 2.
Subsequently, by letter dated April 15, 1997, you withdrew the request for authorization in its entirety.
The NRC will conduct no further review of this request and TAC Nos. M94037 and M94038 will be closed.
