Subject: Combined Inspection Nos. 50-277/85-43 and 50-278/85-43
This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. R. J. Bailey
of this office on November 25-27, 1985 at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power
Station, Delta, Pennsylvania of activities authorized by NRC License Nos.
OPR-44 and DPR-56 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Bailey
with Mr. R. S. Fleischmann at the conclusion of the inspection.
This also
refers to subsequent telephone discussions between Mr. Bailey, Mr. S. Thorpe
and Mr. J. Oddo on December 13,16, and 17,1985.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct the violations
brought to your attention in letters dated May 7, July 25,1984, and May 7 and
July 17,1985. We have no further questions regarding your actions at this
time.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us in this matter
is appreciated.
