SUBJECT:

IRDAM AVAILABILITY TO NUCLEAR FACILITY LICENSEES The IRDAM (Interactive Rapid Dose Assessment Model) is now being made available to all NRC licensees upon request.

This computer model was developed by Pacific Northwest Laboratories in 1982 for use on an IBM Personal Computer. It is designed such that dose assessments may be made for any nuclear facility accident resulting in a radioactive release.

The program is interactive, and, thus, requires very little base knowledge of the user.

If your organization would like to obtain a copy of this program, send a disk to the Region II Office (ATTN: Mr. Thomas R. Decker, Chief, Emergency Preparedness Section). If you already have a copy of the program, please let us know so that we may update our records. As revisions are made,, all those on our roster will receive the updates.

The use of this computer model is not mandatory; however, you may find it a useful addition to your emergency capabilities.
