Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3' This letter provides the Southern California Edison (SCE) final response for San Onofre Units 2 and 3 to IE Bulletin 83-06: "!bnconforming tuterials Supplied by Tube-Line Corporation Facilities at Long Island City, New York; Houston, Texas; and Carol Stream, Illinois." Action Item 1 and 4 of this IE Balletin 83-06 require that the lists of purchasing and receiving companies given in Attachimnts to this bulletin be reviewed, a determination -be made if any Tuba-Line supplied ASME Code Section III materials have been furnished to San Onofre Units 2 and 3, and a written report be submitted to the Regional Administrator. 'Ihe above reference provided the SCE interim response to IE Bulletin 83-06, and this letter is notification that the investigations are complete. SCE and our principal contractors, Combustion Engineering (CE) and Bechtel Oorpor ion (Bechtel) have conducted extensive corporate and jobsite investigations including review of approved vendor lists and review of purchasing records and have found no evidence to indicate that any ASP 2 Code Section III mterial from Tube-Line Corporation is in use at San Onofre Units 2 and 3. No ASME Code Section III material has been purchased for San Onofre Units 2 and 3 directly from Tube-Line Corporation by SCE, CE or Bechtel. In addition, significant efforts have been mde to determine if any ASME Code F9ction III material from Tube-Line Corporation has been shipped to San Onofre Units 2 and 3 through sub-tier vendors. For example, Bechtel, using a generic approach for all their nuclear projects, has questioned a total of 415 sub-tier vendors whose products may contain mterial similar in product form to those in this bulletin. 319 vendors responded, and based on these investigations, it has been determined that no ASP 2 Code Section III mterial has been shipped to San Onofre Units 2 and 3 from 'Iube-Line. 1 11 ~ 8406190387 840615 PDR ADDCK 05000361 a O_ PDR l U l f

Based on the significant effort that has.been made and finding no 'Ibbe-Line..
