SAN ON0FRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION UNIT NO. 2 AND 3, DOCKET NOS 50-361 AND 50-362 EVENT DATE:
June-29, 1985 The following information is provided in accordance with Technical Specification Surveillance Requirement 4.8.1.1.3 and Regulatory Position C.3.b of Regulatory Guide 1.108:
1.
The diesel generator involved was 2G002.
2.
This was not considered a valid test or failure of the diesel generator.
3.
The diesel generator was started for a one hour operability run, and manually secured shortly afterwards because one of the air motors would not disengage after starting-i 4.
The failure of the Bendix gear did not prevent the diesel from operating, j
however the diesel was shutdown as a precautionary measure to allow j
repairs to be made. The Bendix gear on the air motor had failed to retract. A new air motor was installed, however the specific cause of the Bendix gear failure to disengage was not determined.
5.
The diesel was not available for autostart during this event from 1846 on-6/29/85 to 0952 on 6/30/85.
