Subject: EXAMINATION REPORT.NO. 50-170/86-01(OL)
This transmits the Examination Report of Operator Licensing Examinations con-
ducted by USNRC Region I at the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute
Facility the week of January 6,1985. At the exit interview held on January 8,
1986, the preliminary results of these examinations were discussed.
During this inspection, control of construction and housekeeping outside the
reactor area were noted as being in need of improvement.
In your absence from the facility, NRC concerns about this were discussed by-
phone by CDR. R. Walker of your staff and Mr. E. McCabe of my staff on January
30 and January 31, 1986. We understand that these matters have been effective-
ly resolved and that construction and related activities are being controlled
to prevent adverse impact upon the facility. A reply is requested within 30
days of receipt of our letter describing measures taken to assure that reactor
