ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW OF SARGENT & LUNDY, LLC NUCLEAR QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM TOPICAL REPORT SL-TR-1, REVISION 25 (EPID: L-2020-TOP-0027)

Dear Mr. Kurtz By letter dated May 14, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML20132A261) Sargent & Lundy, LLC (S&L) submitted S&L Nuclear Quality Assurance Program, Topical Report (TR) SL-TR-1, Revision 25 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for review and approval.

The NRC performed an acceptance review and found that the material presented is sufficient to begin our review. The NRC is planning to issue a draft safety evaluation (SE) by May 28, 2020 and final SE by June 5, 2020, and the proposed schedule assumes a quick turnaround in regards to S&Ls response to the draft SE. This schedule takes into consideration the NRCs current review priorities and available technical resources and may be subject to change. If modifications to these dates are deemed necessary, we will provide appropriate updates to this information.

The NRC staff estimates that the review will require approximately 60 staff hours including project management time. The review schedule milestones and estimated review costs were communicated via email dated May 18, 2020 between you and the NRC staff.

Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the CFR requires that TRs are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours will be billed accordingly.
