Dear Mr. Taylor:
By letter dated December 13, 1985, (Log No. 1880) the NRC transmitted to the Toledo Edison Company a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties (EA 85-107) for alleged violations identified in Inspection Report No. 50-346/85030(DRP). Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR Part 2.201, Toledo Edison is required to submit a written response to the Notice of Violation under oath or affirmation by January 12, 1986 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
In order to provide a complete and detailed response to the Notice of Violation, Toledo Edison hereby requests an extension of the response due date to February 7, 1986 based on the following circumstances:
1.
Toledo Edison is expending significant resources to support the restart of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
2.
The time to prepare the response to the notice of violation extends over the Christmas holiday period.
Therefore, based on the above Toledo Edison requests, an extension of the response due date to February 7, 1986.
