Acceptance of Use of ASME Code Case N-397 for Vogtle, Units 1 and 2 i
The staff has completed its review of your request for authorization to use ASME Code Case N-397 on Spectral Broadening Frocedures as discussed in your letter dated November 18, 1985.

. Code Case N-397, " Alternate Rules to the Spectral Broadening Procedures of l
N-1276.3 for Classes 1, 2 and 3 Piping Section III, Division 1," is an acceptable Code Case and is approved by the staff for specific plant applications pending revision of Regulatory Guide 1.122.
The Code Case is approved as written with no additional requirements other than those specified in the Code Case.
Code Case N-397 may, therefore, be used at Vogtle, Units 1 and 2, within the limitations stated in the " Inquiry" and " Reply" sections of the Code Case.
Georgia Power Company has stated that use of the Code Case will be documented in a future amendment to the FSAR. The staff finds this commitment acceptable.
