Dear Mr. Devine:
This is in response to your letter dated November 20, 1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), copies of all records, and the report, related to the Office of Inspector and Auditor's (0IA) investigation into charges that NRC staff responded improperly to allegations by whistleblowers at the Diablo Canyon plant.
On October 3,1985, we responded to your August 20, 1985, letter which requested the same records. The OIA review was ongoing and your request was den.ied. A copy of that letter is enclosed.
The OIA review of matters relating to Diablo Canyon is still ongoing. OIA-anticipates completion of the case w~ithin the next 3-4 months. You may wish to write to us for a copy of the report at that time.
In the interim, the previous denial stands.
