Dear Mr. Andrews:
EJordan The Connission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 92 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-40 for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No. 1.
This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated September 6,1985 as supplemented by letter dated September 3, 1985.
The amendment changes the technical specifications to support the operation of the unit at full rated power during Cycle 10.
It should be noted that there is one open item as a result of our review.
This involves the validation of the mini-CECOR/BASSS system. As you know, you are converting the CECOR program from the CDC mainframe computer to the ERF minicomputer. You need to ensure that the version of CECOR running on the mainframe computer and the version that will run on the minicomputer yield identical results. The validation process will determine that the uncertainties normally associated with CECOR are still acceptable. By letter dated October 4,1985, you notified us that you will submit the results of the validation analysis by December 1, 1985. We will review the validation on an expedited basis in order to close out this open item. This approach has been discussed with and agreed to by your staff.
A copy of the Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's next regular bi-weekly Federal Register notice.
Sincerely,
/S/
E. G. Tourigny, Project Manager Operating Reactors Branch #3 Division of Licensing
