Dear Mr. Foster:

(

SUBJECT:

GEORGIA POWER COMPANY V0GTLE READINESS REVIEW PROGRAM PROPOSAL TO SUBMIT PARTIAL MODULES TO THE NRC FOR REVIEW On September 18,19S5, Messrs. W. C. Ramsey and H. P. Walker of your staff met with Messrs. M. V. Sinkule and W. H. Rankin of my staff in the NRC Region II office. This meeting, conducted at your request, was held for the purpose of discussing the scheduling and review of future readiness review submittals to the NRC.

Specifically, you proposed that some modules, such as Module No. 9 " Radiological Protection and Chemistry," be submitted in two parts with the majority of the module submitted initially and the completed verification portion submitted upon completion. Mr. Ramsey indicated that some module submittals were delayed due to one or two outstanding items awaiting resolution and that a two part document

~

would permit an earlier initial submittal.

We have reviewed your proposal and have discussed it with the other NRC partici-pating offices. As a result we have determined that the NRC has no objection to your proposal.

Should you have further questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact me.

Sincerely,

/s/ p k J. Nelson Grace Regional Administrator cc:
