o..., t Tho' Supplemental-Enemination Program Plan (SEPP) has been prepared to ' supplement the Preservice Inspection (PSI) requirements for the Balance of plant (30p) of the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1. The SEPP. lis' written to meet sectain supplemental inspection requirements seemitted to in the FSAR 6.6.1. Zaplementation of-this SEPP is in 'asserdense with the Code of Federal Begulations, Paragraphs 10CPRSO.SSa(b)(2)(iv) and 50.SSa(s)(6)(ii). i This SEPP presents a general tout which relates to the everall l enemination requirements for individual piping systems and system-specific examinations.- i The SEPP discusses the requirements which form the bases for the f Ldevelopment of the plan and the technical scope of examinations to -{ satisfy _these requirements. The SEPP also presents procedures for- . performance and documentation of these examinations. [ 2.0 R& SIS FOR SEPP { \\ ~As a result oflthe exemption criteria applied to Safety Class 11 piping in the Balance of Plant. PSI Program Plan,. Unit 1, certain key areas of 1 piping systems providing Residual Neat Removal (RNR), Energency Core I Cooling (BCC) and/or Containment Neat Removal (CNR) functions are exempt from the requirements of inspection. In assuring the overall integrity of these systems, Seabrook Station has adopted this SEPP using Code Case a 5-400 to the 1983 ASME B&PV Code Section II as guidance in selecting welds to be examined for those portions of Reactor Nake-Up Water (RIti), Safety. Injection (SI), Containment Building Spray (CBS) and Chemical Volume and Control ~(CVC) which are necessary for RNR, BCC and CNR. Those p rtions of RIti, CS, 31 and CSS piping, which are othatwise f ademple$ from PSI by the existing regulations, have been reviewed in assordance with the following criteria. The following components (or parts of components) of RNR, ECC and CHR Systems (or portions of systems) are exempt from the volumetric and surface examination requirements of IWC-25001 l a. piping, less then NPS 2 and smaller. l l b. p l-L l SEPP i-Revision 0 l' f ] Page 8 of 10 N.I b 3.6 Records and Resorts A system of records of the supplemental inspection, plans, i schedules and calibration standards; the examination results and L reports, the corrective action required and taken, will be developed and maintained at the site in accordance with Article IWA 6000 of Asus '77/s78 section II. 3.7 Fersonnel cualification annuirements personnel perfoming nondestructive examination operations shall l: be qualified with procedures prepared in accordance with l SNT-TC-1A, 1975/1980 Edition, for the applicable examination technique and methods as required by Article IWA 2300 of ASME L '77/878 Section II. All examinations shall be performed and the results evaluated by qualified nondestructive examiners Level II l and Level III. l l 3.8 Proaram plan Attachments l The specific examination requirements for the supplemental Examinations are defined in the attachments. Each weld is designated by a unique identification number along with the i h l-V ' examination category, method, and calibration standard number, if required for ultrasonic examinations. r The procedure Identification Column has been intentially left ( blank.
