Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-271/85-39
A special safety inspection of your radiation protection and solid radioactive
waste programs during the extended outage was conducted by Mr. H. Bicehouse of
this office on December 2-6, 1985. Our findings were discussed with Mr. J.
Pelletier of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection on December 6,
1985.
Areas of the radiation protection and solid radioactive waste programs
examined during the inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspection
Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection
consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel and observations and measurements made by the
inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were observed.
We have reviewed the actions taken to correct the violations brought to your
attention in the enclosure to our letter, dated October 22, 1985. The cor-
rective actions stated in your letter, dated November 25, 1985, appear to be
adequate to prevent recurrence. Since certain corrective actions will not be
completed until after the current outage, we have identified those actions as
items for subsequent review.
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us in this matter
is appreciated.
