Dear Mr. Strohl:
Chaiman Palladino has asked me to reply to your September 24, 1985, letter which the NRC received on October 16, 1985.
You expressed concern over certain high radiation readings taken by state health persone.el on the IF-300 spent fuel cask prior to a June 26, 1985, shipment from the Monticello Plant to Morris, Illinois. You also asked a number of specific questior.s about that shipment and several other questions regarding our program for inspection of spent fuel shipments.
In cooperation with our regional office in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, we are in the process of developing a comprehensive response to all of your questions. You can expect to receive that response shortly.
