Chaiman Palladino has asked me to reply to your September 24, 1985, letter which the NRC received on October 16, 1985. You expressed concern over certain high radiation readings taken by state health persone.el on the IF-300 spent fuel cask prior to a June 26, 1985, shipment from the Monticello Plant to Morris, Illinois. You also asked a number of specific questior.s about that shipment and several other questions regarding our program for inspection of spent fuel shipments.

Dear Mr. Strohl:
Chairman Palladino has asked me to reply to your September 24, 1985, letter which the NRC received on October 16, 1985. You expressed concern over certain high radiation readings taken by state health personnel on the IF-300 spent fuel cask prior to a June 26, 1985, shipment from the Monticello Plant to Morris, Illinois. You also asked a number of specific questions about that shipment and several other questions regarding our program for inspection of spent fuel i shipments.
