J NOTICE OF VIOLATION 4

1- Commonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-373

. Docket No. 50-374 As a result of the inspection conducted between October 30 and November 22, 1985, and in accordance with the General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions (10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C), the following violations were identified:

Technical Specification 6.2.B requires that radiation control procedures be maintained, made available to all personnel, and adhered to.

~ LaSalle Radiation Protection Procedure LRP-1120-2 requires that immediately before entering a high radiation area, the person entering must call the Operating Shift Supervisor (OSS) or his designated alternate to inform him of the entry and appropriate duration. The procedure also requires that immediately after departing a high radiation area, the persons departing must call the OSS or his designated alternate to inform him that a safe exit has

been made.

! Contrary to the above, calls are not routinely made to inform the OSS or his designated alternate that a high radiation area entry will be made and to inform of a safe exit.

This is a Severity Level IV. Violation (Supplement IV).

-Pursuant to the provision of 10 CFR 2.201, you are required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice a written statement or explanation in reply, including for each item of noncompliance: (1) corrective action taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective action to be taken to J

avoid further noncompliance; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown. ,
