Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) Units 1 and 2 - Salem ATWS Events, Generic Letter 83-28, Position 1.2 Post' Trip Review - Data and Infor-
- mation Capability By letter dated November 2, 1984, Mississippi Power and Light Company (licensee) provided information regarding the data and information capability of the GGNS post trip review program in response to Generic Letter 83-28, Position 1.2.
By letters dated August 5 and September 27, 1985, the licensee provided supplemental information in response to NRC staff questions.
The NRC staff has completed its review of this infor'mation. The staff's safety evaluation report is enclosed. During its review, the staff had the benefit of a technical evaluation report of licensee's November 2,1984, submittal, prepared by staff's contractor, Scienc'e Applications International Corporation. Staff also had the benefit of telephone calls with licensee on May 23, 1985, to discuss the technical evaluation report, and on June 27 and August 15, 1985 to discuss availability of the General Electric Transient Recorder System (GETARS) computer to record post trip review data and capability to record 'he same data on other equipment. Based on its review, the staff' concludes that the licensee's post trip review data and information capabilities for Grand Gulf Units 1 and 2 are acceptable.
