NRC PRAIRIE ISLAND SECURITY INSPECTION REPORTS 50-282/97007
Dear Mr. Wadley:
On April 8,1997, the NRC completed an onsite inspection at your Prairie Island Nuclear
Generating Plant. Additional in-office inspection was completed and Mr. Hutchinson of
your staff notified that there were no additional findings on April 28,1997. The enclosed
report presents the results of that inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,
j
observations, and interviews with personnel.
The objective of the inspection effort was to determine whether activities authorized by
the license were conducted safely and in accordance with NRC requirements. The
enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
No violations of NRC requirements were noted in the areas inspected. The Vehicle Barrier
System was effectively implemented. The NRC did however identify that a portion of the
Vehicle Barrier System did not have a completed engineering analysis.
