This procedure is being provided to assist you in responding to the numerous questions being addressed to the NRC Staff with respect to unloading a TN-40 cask at Prairie Island.
Please be aware that while procedure D95.2 controls the cask handling activities necessary to unload a TN-40 spent fuel storage cask, it is only one of the procedures necessary to safely unload a cask. D95.2 is used in conjunction with several other site procedures, such as those controlling fuel handling, heavy loads, and radiation protection. Also, several Preventative Maintenance and Surveillance Procedures are used in the unloading of a TN-40 cask.
In this letter we have made no new Nuclear Regulatory Commission commitments.
