On March 18, 1997, Unit 1 Loose Parts Monitoring System (LPMS) 1 Channel 13 was declared inoperable due sporadic electrical static. This was discovered during the performance of routine

surveillances. This channel was removed from service and

entered into the Technical Specification Action Item Logbook i (#C1-97-714) as inoperable. Work Order 97024018 has been  ;

written to pursue repairs during the next outage of sufficient  !

! length (1EOC10) since this will _ require entry into lower containment. Problem Investigation Process (PIP) 1-C97-0745 i is the tracking document for this failure.

b LPMS Channel 12 (S/G 1B Secondary) and Channel 14 (S/G 1B Hot

Leg) are operable and providing coverage for this region in j the absence of LPMS Channel 13 (1B S/G Manway).

4 Since this channel has been inoperable for 30 days, this ,

information is submitted pursuant Selected Licensee Commitment l t 16.7-4 and Technical Specification 6.9.2.
