CP&L provides the following clarification to our revised application dated September 17, 1984: a total of.041 grams of U-235 enriched to greater than 90% will be provided in ten, fission chambers.
2 A total of approximately 72 milligrams of U-238 and approximately 120 milligrams of Np-237 will be provided in the Reactor Vessel Surveillance Capsules. The amount listed in our SNM license application is for one capsule and there are six capsules.
3 Please add: There are two fission chambers in the Excore Neutron Flux Monitoring System in which there is approximately a total of 2.02 grams U-235 enriched to greater than 90%.
4 Please add: The two primary sources are Californium-252; cermit wire; 150 millicuries maximum per source, not to exceed 300 millicuries total.
5 Please include reference to this letter in our license.
6 As stated in our response to Question 5b included in our revised application dated September 17,1984, the Manager - Operations is responsible for approval of fuel handling procedures. The Manager - Technical Support will review these procedures.
7 As provided in our response to Question $b included in our revised application dated September 17, 1984: " Minimum qualifications for each position are in accordance with ANSI /ANS 3.1 - September 1979 draf t as modified by,CP&L's position in FSAR Section 1.8."
Paragraphs 4.2.2 and 4.2.4 of the September 1979 draf t and the 1978 version of.the. standard contain similar requiremen_ts.
8 As.provided in Section-2.2 of our revised application dated September 17, 1984:_"The m.i.nimum qualifications for the reactor operator responsible for criticality safety for fuel assembly

handling shall be:
a.
previously held an NRC RO license at another facility and has had direct fuel handling experience, or b.
previously held a responsible position in charge of new fuel receipt and handling at another facility."
9 It should be noted that self reading pocket dosimeters will be read daily and the dose estimated at least every two weeks and recorded.
