Mr. Edward Butcher, Acting Chief Operating Reactors, Branch 3 Gentlemen:
DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 FIRE PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS 4160-VOLT SWITCHGEAR ROOM POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 By letter dated June 30, 1982, we requested several exemptions from the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix R.
One of those exemptions concerned the 4160-volt switch' ear room.
This g
exemption was denied in.your letter dated August 21, 1985.
This letter is to inform you that we are currently evaluating different alternatives for providing alternate shutdown capability for the 4160-volt switchgear room.
We expect to complete our evaluation of these options in November 1985.. Following our evaluation, we suggest'a meeting to discuss our plans for providing alternate shutdown capability for the switchgear room.
