WITHDRAWAL OF REQUESTED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGE Consumers Power Company letter dated November 1, 1984 submitted a Technical Specification change which, among other things, requested that a new last sentence be added to paragraph 6.4.3(f) to read " Portable high range gamma measuring instruments shall be calibrated from 0 to 20 R/hr every three months and on all scales every six months." Additional information to support this requested change was submitted by our letter dated May 16, 1985. Consumers Power Company hereby withdraws this requested change. The remaining changes requested in our November 1, 1984 submittal are still desired. For your information, paragraph 6.4.3(f) was revised and renumbered by Amendment 77, dated August 26, 1985, to 6.4.2(d).

As a result of this withdrawal, paragraph 6.4.2(d) should read " Portable gamma dose-rate measuring instruments and portable neutron dose-rate measuring

. instruments shall be provided for establishing working limits. These instruments shall be calibrated at least every three months." A revised proposed technical specific ^ation page is attached.

Withdrawal of this requested change also withdraws our commitment to calibrate the Xetex Fission: Pole and the Eberline Teletector on all scales every six months and from 0 to 20 R/hr every three months made in response to an item of noncompliance in IE Inspection Report 50-155/84-04 dated May 29, 1984. This commitment was made in our response to IE Inspection Report 84-04 dated f
