The NRC has received an allegation that the safety-related HVAC control panels at Clinton, that are being (or have been) installed by MCC Powers Company, were manufactured by Illinois Fabricators without benefit of a Quality Assurance program. The alleger stated that since,there was no Quality Assurance program when the panels were constructed, there was no control of welding, special processes, inspection, and material control.
This information is forwarded to Illinois Power Company for review and followup.
We request that the results of your review and disposition of this matter be submitted to Region III after completion.
Documentation supporting your results should be maintained onsite for audit by Region III.
