SUBJECT:

CHANGES IN COMANCHE PEAK'S SERVICE AND CIRCULATING

-WATER SYSTEMS The NRC staff was advised in a telephone call between S. Karpyak (TUGCO) and S. Burwell (NRC), on September 16, 1985, that Texas Utilities has changed its water treatment for service and circulating water since the FES was issued.

.As a result, the amount of chemicals (non-radioactive) that are discharged to the environment as reflected in-the FES table has changed. We were also informed that Texas Utilities has been working with EPA and these new quantities are reflected in the NPDES permit from EPA.

In order to update the information currently on the docket, you are requested to submit in writing the changes you have made to the water treatment for service and circulating water since the issuance of the FES and describs how these changes effect the environment. In addition, please provide the status of the NPDES permit with EPA with regard to these changes and submit a current copy of the permit.
