Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by.Mr. Z. Falevits of

this office on August 12-14, 26-28, and September 3, 1985, of activities at
'LaSalle County Station Units 1 and 2 authorized by NRC Operating License
Nos. NPF-11 and NPF-18 and to the discussion of our findings with Messrs.

L. O. De1 George, R. Bishop and others of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas exas.ined during-
the inspection. Within these areas,_the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations',-and
interviews with personnel.
During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in violation
of NRC requirements, as specified in the enclosed Appendix A.
A written
response is required to Appendix A.
Certain other activities, set forth in
Appendix B to this letter, appear to be a deviation from commitments which you
gl
'have made in previous correspondence with the Commission. We request that you
.also address the items in Appendix B in your response.
