Dear Mr. Mazur:

ACRS (16)

Subject:

Approval of ASME Code Case N-413, Washington Nuclear Project No.1 By letter dated August 14, 1985, Mr. G. Sorensen requested NRC approval to use ASME Code Case N-413 on WNP-1.

Code Case N-413, " Minimum Size of Fillet Welds for Linear Type Supports,Section III, Division 1," is an acceptable Code Case which is approved as written with no additional requirements other than those specified in the Code Case.

We find that Code Case N-413 may, therefore, be used at WNP-1 for linear type supports within the limitations stated in the " Inquiry" and " Reply" section of the Code Case. Once licensing of WNP-1 is resumed, use of the Code Case should be documented in a future amendment to the FSAR.

Sincerely, Original Signed by Darrell G. Eisenhut for Harold R. Denton, Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation cc:
