RE: Docket 50-220 SPECIAL REPORT Gentlemen:

In accordance with Technical Specification 3.6.10.1, we hereby submit the following Special Report concerning fire barrier penetrations:

On August 8, 1985, it was determined that penetration I-849 and new penetration I-2310 should be opened and rendered non-functional so that maintenance modifications involving floor drains could be fulfilled.

Both penetrations were declared inoperabic in compliance with Tech. Spec. 3.6.10.1 (Fire B trrier Penetrations). Fire watch patrols were established in accordance with Tech. Specs. to perform hourly inspections until the modifications were completed on August 30, 1985.
