1 l By letter dated June 6,1985, ycu notified us that the State of Ncw Jersey

has reviewed the use of chlorine at Hope Creek, has determined the controls j hecessary to protect the aquatic environment from the potential toxic effects of chlorine in station discharges, and has issued a permit specifying actions to be taken by Public Service Electric & Gas Company. You, therefore, requested j that the state requirements be accepted as fulfilling the chlorine minimization j studies required by the Hope Creek Construction Permit (CP).
We have reviewed your request and believe your request is justified; however,

! acceptance of the state's chlorine study, in lieu of the CP Chlorine study i will require an amendment to the CP. Accordingly, we request that you resubmit your June 6,1985 request in the form of a CP amendment application.

1 We will process this application as soon as it is received.
