- V0GTLE FACILITY - DOCKET NO. 50-424 This refers to the management meeting conducted at your request in the NRC Region II Office on January 9,1986. This meeting wc , held to brief the NRC on the Vogtle Readiness Review Module entitled " Nuclear Steam Supply System" and '

" Foundation Material and Backfill."

It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial and has provided a com' pre-hensive overview of the Vogtle Readiness Review Program and, specifically, these modules. This in-depth presentation will better enable the NRC to conduct its evaluations.

With respect to your proposal regarding a program review of the Vogtle Readiness Review Pilot Program, we concur that such a review would be beneficial. We will contact you in the near future to schedule this meeting and to develop a mutually agreeable agenda.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title l'),

Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
