STAFF EVALUATION OF LICENSEE RESPONSE TO IE BULLETIN 80-11, MASONRY WALL DESIGN Re:
Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2 We have completed our review of your response to IE Bulletin 80-11, Masonry Wall Design. The results of our review are contained in the enclosed Safety Evaluation (SE). A Technical Evaluation Report (TER), Attachment I to the enclosure, was prepared by our contractor Franklin Research Center (FRC). This TER contains details of construction techniques used, technical information reviewed, acceptance criteria, and technical findings with respect to masonry wall construction at the Quad Cities facility. The NRC staff has reviewed the TER and concurs with its technical findings except as noted in the staff's SE.
From our evaluation as contained in our SE we conclude that the concerns addressed by IE Bulletin 80-11 have been fully satisfied.
