Dear Mr Briam:
Pursuant to NUREG-0654, Revision 1, Appendix 1, the following is a summary report concerning an Unusual Event at the Diablo Canyon Power Plant site.
On January 26, 1986, an earthquake was detected by the plant seismic instrumentation system and was also felt by control room personnel. The maximum ground acceleration at the plant, as determined by the Terra Technology seismic monitoring instrumentation system, was 0.003g.
An Unusual Event was declared by the Shift Foreman at 1121 PST and emergency notifications were initiated. A post-earthquake walkdown and inspection by plant personnel determined that no damage had been caused at the site.
The unusual Event was cencluded at 1135 PST, January 26, 1986. This event has in no way affected the health and safety of the public and no discharge of radioactive materials were made to the environment.
