We have received copies of the following applications which were filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (0NRR) for review in connection with the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station:

1. An October 8,1985 application relating to control room upgrade (installationofcarpeting).

2. An October 31, 1985 application relating to additional exemptions from 10 CFR 50, Appendix R.

Fees pursuant to 10 CFR 170, as revised June 20, 1984, were not remitted with your applications. This revised rule requires licensees to remit an application fee of $150 with each application for license amendment, relief, exemption and other request. The ONRR staff have infomed us that they are considering your request of October 31, 1985, as a new application containing additional requests rather than as supplemental to your April 24, 198S application. For your infonnation, applications can be supplemented or superseded with additional fees being paid as long as the supplemental or superseding application does not contain new requests. Therefore, it is requested that your Corporation remit the required application fees of

$300 for your October 8 and October 31 requests. Your Corporation will be billed for any additional costs for the review of your applications in accordance with 10 CFR 170.12(c) and 170.21.
