Dear Mr. Martin:

Environmental Qualification of Safety Related Electrical Equipment at the Fort Calhoun Station In late April 1985, a pilot inspection team audited the environmental qualification program for electrical equipment at the Fort Calhoun Station in order to determine compliance with 10 CFR 50.49. The results of that pilot inspection were documented in Reference 2. OPPD submitted Reference 3 advising your office of our resolution of the Reference 2 findings. Subsequent to that letter, a team of two inspectors from the Region IV office returned to close items cited in Reference 2. The team was successful in closing several of the items; however, other items were not closed.

In a management meeting in the Region IV offices on Thursday, December 13, 1985, OPPD met with several members of your staff to discuss final resolution of the inspection report items.

The agreements made at that meeting were documented by Reference 4. In that meeting, it was noted that OPPD would submit a letter to the Region documenting that appropriate actions had been taken in each case.
