This refers to the routine, physical protection inspection conducted by
Mr. William Madden of this office on September 25, 1985, at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology reactor facility of activities authorized by NRC
License No. R-37 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Madden
with you at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspectior, are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and repres-
entative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
