This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Drs. M. J. Oestmann
l
and R. B. Holtzman of this office on July 15-19, 1985, of activities at
Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station,. Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC Operating
License No. DPR-29 and No. DPR-30 and to the discussion of our findings with
j
T. Tamlyn and others of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Additional discussion was held by telephone with J. Sirovy and P. Behrens of
your staff on July 31, 1985.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel. -In addition, our Mobile Laboratory was at the
site during the inspection to perform independent measurements of radio-
activity.
No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during the
course of this inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and.the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's
Public Document Room.
