I am replying to the request made in your E-mail of February 14, 1997.
In your E-mail, you reiterated your request that the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) units be shutdown and the spent fuel removed immediately based on your concerns regarding the seismic adequacy of the SONGS units.
For the reasons stated in Mr. Miraglia's letter to you dated February 6,1997, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is temporarily suspending its review of your petition, until such time as you have provided all the information you wish to be considered in the staff's final decision regarding your petition.
Please let us know your schedule for submitting all the information you intend to provide to support your petition.
This will allow the staff to schedule the necessary staff resources to promptly evaluate this information.
