Terry dated January 29, 1997 During the period of January 27 through February 7, 1997, CPSES Station Engineering performed a self assessment of engineering activities, processes, and products, with a focus on the effectiveness of the organization in supporting safe and reliable station operations.
Reference 1) provided the objectives, scope, general approach. schedule, level of effort, and a listing of the team members for the self-assessment.
Reference 2) confirmed the NRC acceptance of the TV Electric Station Engineering Self Assessment proposal. The CPSES Station Engineering Self Assessment report is included as an attachment to this letter.
The self-assessment was accomplished by performing both horizontal evaluations of the engineering organization and vertical evaluations of four station systems supported by the engineering processes. The results indicate that CPSES Station Engineering is adequately supporting safe and i
reliable station operations and that the four systems evaluated are capable of performing ti eir intended safety functions.
