Subject: Inspection No. 50-322/85-39

This letter refers to the routine resident safety inspection conducted by

Messrs. J. Berry and E. Conner on October 1 - 31, 1985 at the Shoreham Nuclear

Power Station, Wading River, New York. The inspection consisted of observa-

tions of activities, interviews with personnel and document reviews. The

results of the inspection are described in the NRC Region I 15sp'ection Report

enclosed with this letter and were discussed with members of your staff at

the conclusion of the inspection.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures

will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
