This refers to the management meeting held at the NRC Region ! office on
October 31, 1985.
The purpose of that meeting was to discuss the causal

factors and corrective actions for the auxiliary feedwater (AFW) system

wiring problems documented in NRC Region ! Inspection Report 50-213/85-20.
At this meeting, you provided clarification regarding the initial AFW system
i

modification and the degree of component testing reviewed by your plant design
,

change task group.
As a result, our concern related to this occurrence has
i
l
been narrowed to the effectiveness of your corrective actions.
In order for us
l
to complete our assessment, please provide a written reply within 30 days of
l
this letter including a detailed description of and schedule for your correc-
l
tive actions for (1) improved design change installation controls, (2) improved
'
,
testing requirements, and (3) verification of similar previous modifications.
l
