This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by A. Krasopoulos of
this office on November 13-14, 1985, at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station,
Unit 2, Delta, PA, of. activities authorized by NRC License No. OPR-44 and to
the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Krasopoulos with R. Fleischmann of
your staff at the conclusion of the inspection, and to a subsequent telephone
discussion between Mr. A. Krasopoulos and Mr. R. Fleischmann on November 27,
1985.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
'
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
As discussed in the details of this report, the final determination of the
cause of the fire had not been made by your staff before the completion of this
inspection. We were informed by your staff that a final report is in prepara-
tion and would be made available for our review. We request that a copy of the
report be sent to this office upon its completion. Your cooperation with us in
this matter is appreciated.
