1 of 1 MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES - OCTOBER, 1985 HIGHLIGHTS:

The Unit is currently in the 10 Year ISI and Cycle 9 Refueling Outage.

The reporting period began with the Reactor Coolant System in Mode 5.

On 10-15-85 at 1944, _the Reactor Coolant System entered Mode 4.

On 10-25-85 at 1056, the Reactor Coolant System entered Mode 3.

The reporting period ended with Reactor Coolant System is Mode 3.

There was no electrical generation for the month of October.

SUMMARY

10-09-85 At 0335, the East Component Cooling Water Pump was declared inoperable when it failed do start due.to the breaker tripping on instantaneous overcurrent.

At 1940, the East Component Cooling Water Pump was declared operable.

10-12-85 At 0111, and inadvertent Engineered Safety Features actuation resulted when the CCRP inverter shifted to the emergency feed, de-energizing equipment momentarily.

10-15-85 At 1944, the Reactor Coolant System entered Mode 4.

10-25-85 At 1007, an Engineered Safety-Features actuation resulted from a high alarm on containment particulate radiation monitor ERS-1301.

At 1056, the Reactor Coolant System entered Mode 3.

10-26-85 At 2236, a Reactor Trip resulted when the turbine tripped on high level in #11 steam generator while on auxiliary feed.

' Body-to-bonnet leak on QRV-162, 75 gpm letdown orifice isolation valve, Unit 1.

Repaired with new gasket, studs and nuts. The internals were cleaned and inspected.

M-2 Replaced check valve.1-FW-149, in cooling water line to turbine driven auxiliary feedwater pump oil cooler. Check valve was stuck shut, causing the cooling water line safety valve to lift.

C&I-1 Pressurizer Pressure Set II, PB-456D, low pressurizer pressure SI setpoint bistable was found out of specification and was replaced with a new bistable. The new bistable was calibrated and the cor-rect setpoint verified.

C&I-2 NLP-153. Pressurizer Level Indication Channel III indicated 10%

higher than the other two channels. The transmitter was recal-ibrated and the transmitter reference leg filled. The channel now reads within the allowable tolerance between pressurizer level channels'.
