Dear Mr. Keppler:
On July 1, 1983, the ommonwealth Edison Company Project Construction Department notified.Mr. Julian M. Hinds of your of fice of a potential deficiency reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e) regarding the lack of adequate documentation that Q.C. verifications were performed at our Braidwoqd Station.
For your tracking purposes, this deficienc provided our thirty (30)y was.as' signed Number 83-07.
Reference (a) day report concerning this deficiency and indicated that the status of this dericiency was indeterminate The purpose of this letter is to pr~ ovide a status update.
The Phillips, Getschow Co. has completed the inspection of the random sample selected by?.Sargent & Lundy as described in Reference (a).
In the 2 inch and under sample, it was discovered that in one instance, different schedule spool pieces were r3 versed during field installation.
A'n.. additional 2 inch and under sample will be taken for heat numbers and also reviewed for design specification breaks.
The results will be documented in a sugsequent report.
As stated in Reference (a), the Phillips Getschow reinspection program is scheduled to be completed by December 1, 1983.
Based u on this schedule, we expect to be in a position to provide a comp ete report by December 30, 1983.
