Safety Evaluation Report for Early Defueling By letter dated July 29, 1985, we forwarded a list of questions for your response, based on our initial review of the subject document and related information provided by your staff in a meeting on July 25, 1935.

One of the discussion items during the meeting involved the preparation by GPU/Bechtel of a QA acceptance checklist for the defueling canisters. We request a copy of that checklist and also your response to the enclosed additional question on defueling canisters. Please contact this office if you require any additional information regarding this request.

Discuss your program for assuring that canisters delivered from your vendors will meet the design requirements. Describe the functional testing and checkout that will be performed on each canister prior to its use for defueling.
